This appliance should only be used as described within this instruction booklet. Please retain for future reference.

WARNING! Take care to avoid the hot surface of the appliance coming into direct contact with the skin, in particular the eyes, ears, face and neck.

WARNING! Do not touch the hot barrel or metal parts of the appliance whilst hot.

IMPORTANT! This styler reaches high temperatures and is not suitable for use on either synthetic or real hair extensions.

The hair should be clean, dry and free of dry shampoo, hairspray, mousse, spray wax, styling dust and other styling products except for protectant spray.

WARNING! Only hold the handle during use. Do not touch the hot surfaces of the appliance when in use as these can be extremely hot.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  • Ensure hair is clean, dry, combed through and free of any tangles. For best results, use a light heat protection spray before styling.
  • To turn the Style Secret Air on, slide the ‘’ switch to the ‘ON’ position, and the LED display will illuminate.

Curls and Waves

  • To create curls and waves, press the temperature button marked ‘’ until your required temperature is selected (170ºC, 185ºC or 200ºC).

NOTE: Always start with a lower temperature setting and increase gradually as required.

  • Press the timer button marked ‘’ and the curl direction button marked ‘’ to select the curl effect and desired finish.

Shape and Movement

  • To create soft shape and movement using the air setting, press the temperature button marked ‘’ to select the ‘AIR’ setting. Press the timer button marked ‘’ and curl direction button marked ‘’ to select the curl effect and desired finish.
  • The styler is ready for use when either ‘AIR’ or the chosen temperature has stopped flashing and remains illuminated.
  • Separate a section of hair that is no bigger than 3cm (Fig. A).

NOTE: The smaller the section of hair, the more defined the result will be.

  • Hold the styler with the flat surface, and shorter slot opening facing towards the head. (Fig.B)
  • Guide the sectioned hair into the opening at the top of the styler (Fig.B) until the hair sits within or lower than the hole on the longest slot. (Fig. C)
  • Simply press the START button on the top of the styler handle (Fig. D) and it will start to automatically draw the hair gently into the curl chamber and around the barrel.

Caution! If the appliance is used incorrectly, in certain instances a slight tangle can occur. Should a tangle occur, firstly turn the appliance off and desist from pulling the appliance away from the hair. Gently tease the hair out from the curl chamber until fully released. You could also remove the cover. (Please refer to ‘Hair Guide’ section for further information).

  • Once the hair has been drawn into the chamber, hold the styler in place and wait to hear 4 rapid beeps. This indicates that the curl is complete and ready to be released (Fig. E).

NOTE: If the hair is released before the 4 beeps, the curl will not be complete.

  • Gently pull the styler down vertically and away to release the curl (Fig. F).
  • Repeat around the head until all sections have been curled (Fig. G).
  • To allow the curls to set, do not brush until the hair is cooled.

NOTE: For loose curls, gently shake the hair or brush with a wide tooth comb for a more natural finish.

Timer Setting

Create your desired curl type by pressing the timer setting button ‘’ until the light is illuminated for your chosen curl time.

Heat Settings

A choice of 4 precise heat settings, AIR, 170°C, 185°C, 200°C, for your desired style on all hair types.

Note: The ‘AIR’ setting creates warm air for shape and movement.

If you have delicate, fine, bleached or coloured hair, use the lower heat settings. For thicker hair, use the higher heat settings. It is suggested to always complete a test on initial use to ensure the correct temperature is used on the hair type.

Start on the lowest setting and increase the temperature untildesired result is achieved.

Curl Direction

When styling the left side of the head, select the ‘’ mode to ensure the curl is turning away from the face. When styling the right side of the head, select the ‘’ mode to ensure the curls on the right are also facing away from the face. Use the ‘’ mode which will automatically alternate the direction of the curl.

Auto-Curl Technology

Auto-curl technology gently draws the hair into the curl chamber, where it is softly held and heated to form a perfect curl every time. The barrel rotates automatically in both directions, to create your desired curl finish.

Hair Guide

This appliance has a barrel protection cover to keep styling safe and worry-free. For general maintenance, and in the occasion that hair may be tangled in the barrel, you can remove the cover.

To remove, hold the rubber grip on the styler and turn to the right until the ‘’ lock and ‘’ arrow symbol on the cover align with the ‘’ arrow symbol on the handle. Once aligned, gently pull the cover up and away from the unit.

Auto Shut Off

This appliance features an automatic shut-off function and will turn off after 20 minutes. If you wish to continue using the appliance, simply slide the ‘’ switch to the ‘OFF’ position, then slide to ‘ON’ position to turn the power on.

Memory Function

The memory feature stores your preferred temperature setting for ease of use and consistent results. The memory feature is automatically activated during use to store your preferred temperature setting.

Once the desired temperature setting has been selected, the memory function will store the selected temperature for future use.

When turning the appliance on next, the appliance will automatically select the temperature stored.

To reset the temperature stored under the memory function, simply select a different temperature.

Heat Protection Mat

This appliance comes with a heat protection mat for use during and after styling. During use do not place this appliance on any heat sensitive surface, even when using the heat mat provided.

After use, switch off and unplug the appliance. Immediately wrap the appliance in the heat mat provided and allow the appliance to fully cool down before storing away. Continue to keep out of the reach of children as it will remain hot for several minutes.

Care and Maintenance

To help keep your appliance in the best possible condition follow the steps below:

  • To clean the filter, make sure the appliance is unplugged and cool. Remove the filter and gently clean it and the outside of the inlet mesh with your fingers or a soft brush to remove any dust and debris.

WARNING: Do not attempt to remove the inlet mesh. It is permanently attached to the appliance. If your styler still does not operate after the gentle cleaning of the rear filter and inlet mesh, do not attempt to use. Please contact the Conair Customer Care line.

  • Do not wrap the lead around the appliance, instead coil the lead loosely by the side of the appliance.
  • Do not use the appliance at a stretch from the power point.
  • Always unplug after use.
